The job profile of computer hardware engineer mainly revolves around the research, design, development, and testing of computer systems and hardware components such as computer chips and circuits, keyboards, modems, printers, scanners, etc.



Computer hardware engineers also deal with the installation of computer systems on a large scale and ensure that all computer systems are updated with latest anti-virus protection software. At times, hardware engineers are also called upon for the installation of different software on computer systems.

To become a computer hardware engineer, you need to acquire a bachelor’s degree in engineering, majoring in computers, Maths, and science. Besides, carrying good technical knowledge about computers, hardware engineers need to have excellent communication skills and an eye for detail.
