London South Bank University London South Bank University was established in the year 1892 as the Borough Polytechnic Institute. This is one of the oldest universities of central London. Borough Polytechnic Institute was later dubbed as London South Bank University (LSBU) as it is situated near southern bank of Thames River.
Using charities and public donations, it was founded as Southwark’s Borough Polytechnic Institute. Later in 1970 and 1990 many other colleges were absorbed to form a university in 1992.Till date the university is continuously serving education for many students.
