Masters in Corporate Finance: The University of Dallas

One of my friends was seeking colleges in USA to peruse his Masters in financial Management specialization. Among various universities he came across The University of Dallas, more than five decades old university located in Irving, Texas.

The course offered by university in Corporate Finance is two year program and one has liberty to choose from sessions starting in spring (January) or in summers (July). In two years there are total 6 semesters. Three semesters in first year and three semesters in second year. Apart from regular study sessions university has its separate Center for Professional Development, which pays the roles in continuous learning for professionals and gives opportunity to take up tests which provide certification to build pillars for their successful career. Hence on the completion of study program one can take-up these certification examinations to attain level of proficiency in different streams of Management.

In the first semesters subject papers and assignments laid the foundation relating to Business Communications, Financial and Management Accounting, economics Analysis and also associate the financial fundamental with Information Technology and management information system. Second and third semester are very comprehensively focused on theoretical part of Managerial Finance, Negotiating for Success strategies and their practical implementation, Securities Analysis, Value-Based Leadership and Marketing. This entire year is crucial in terms of constructing the pedestal for finance related professions.

As course progresses, it more inclines towards the practical aspect of Financing in various segments of organization. Fourth, fifth and sixth semester comprise subject papers like Corporate Treasury Management, Business and Society, Portfolio Management, Global Strategy and focusing on practical implication of same in profession. With each subject paper practical assignments, case studies and projects in companies are involved so the students get exposure of actual corporate world.

University of Dallas is a deemed university in America with perfect combination of comfortable studying hours, in campus facilities and Professors stimulate the scholarly and learning environments at any given point to time. Campus provides the commendable support to international students in terms of housing, health services, student activities and recreational services.
