Pursuing a Full-time MBA at Kellogg School of Management

The programs offered by the Kellogg School of Management include a Full-Time MBA Program, a Part-Time MBA Program, an Executive MBA Program, a Doctoral Program and an Undergraduate Program.

The traditional 2 year Full-Time MBA Program is the most popular course at Kellogg. This program is conducted over Fall, Winter and Spring quarters. The curriculum has nine course across core subjects such as management and organizations, finance, accounting, marketing, management, strategy and decision sciences. These core subjects have to be cleared in the first year in order to progress to the next.

Additionally, an internship is to be completed in the Summer after the first year. The 2nd year consists of values and crisis-decision making courses along with various electives. The teaching staff comprise of eminent scholars, and the university invites applicants to contact alumni as well as take a look at the current profile of enlisted students. The school also believes in encouraging extracurricular activities. There are around 80 odd student’s clubs to help encourage a sense of community and leadership.

The cost of the 2 year management program at Kellogg has been estimated at $75,194 (2009-2010 data which includes living expenses, tuition, books, other materials and computer equipment). The university offers grants, low-interest loans (long-term), and other scholarship assistance.

GMAT scored are required for admission while a work experience (full-time) of minimum two years is preferred. The institute also gives importance to the candidate’s motivations, personality, maturity and leadership qualities.


Letters of recommendation, an updated resume, and an essay explaining reasons for interest in joining the course are some of the things to be presented for admission. A non-refundable fee of $250 U.S Dollars is the cost of application.

Apart from the 2 year MBA Program, the school offers a fast-track 1 year MBA program, an MMM (dual degree) Program – which combines management , operations and design, and a JD (Juris Doctor) MBA Program which gives an overview of both management and law.
